PHP Software Engineer

The PHP Software Engineer will be focused on creating solutions for big clients using the Moodle platform. This could include developing new plugins and modules, customizing the look and feel of the platform, integrating with third-party tools and systems, and troubleshooting and debugging issues. They may also be involved in project management, client communication, and team collaboration.


  • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code
  • Create custom modules, blocks, and plugins to meet the specific needs of clients
  • Customize the appearance of the platform using templates, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues related to Moodle, including performance issues, security vulnerabilities, and compatibility issues with other systems
  • Test and validate the code, to ensure that it is functioning as expected and that it’’s compatible with different versions of Moodle
  • Collaborate with other team members, including project managers, designers, and QA testers to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to the satisfaction of clients


  • Strong knowledge of PHP, including object-oriented programming and experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel or CodeIgniter
  • Knowledge of MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug code
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with Moodle LMS and e-learning, would be considered an asset
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Informatics, or any related field
